Jane Lewisohn, Research Associate, Department of Music, SOAS, University of London and Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies, Exeter University talks about: the Flowers (Golha) radio show which ran in Iran from 1956 until the start of the Islamic revolution; the founder of the programme Davoud Pirnia; the success of the programmes with the public and their impact on Iranian culture, particularly music and poetry; the flowering of a Persian identity; and the changes in the programme when Davoud Pirnia retired.
